Crowds in the area ran for their lives after they heard a loud noise and according to many sources, there was something like a gunshot or loud booms heard. After going through the area, police confirmed that there is no shooting ongoing in the area, rather the chief of patrol Jeffrey Maddrey said that fireworks were set off at the location where noises were heard. One person tweeted saying there were loud noises heard at the time of the incident. The loud booms sounded nothing like they were from the fireworks. Another person mocked the FDNY saying that they did not answer to the information about the injuries and they were late to the rescue too.
