Who Was Alvin YEO?
Alvin was born on the 28th of March, 1962 in Singapore. He was a lawyer and politician by profession who worked and went through a lot of changes in his life. Alvin got his LLB degree from King’s College in London. Apart from being a politician and lawyer, Alvin was also the chairman and senior partner of the law firm Wong Partnership LLP. After Yee Chia Hsing replaced him in his seat at the general elections in 2015, Alvin took off and retired from his profession officially. He was a member of the GRC Hong Kah as a member of parliament from 26 to 2011. And after that, he served for Chua Chu Kang GRC for four years from 2011 to 2015. Alvin passed away due to cancer that he was battling for two years.

Alvin Yeo was married to Chan Hee Lian and the two shared two children together. Former parliamentary colleagues started sending in their condolences on social media after the demise news came up on social media and the news broke out on the internet on the morning of Saturday. Marsilling Yew Tee MP Alex Yam called out to Alvin and said that Alvin used to tower over everyone with his height and said that Alvin was a kind-hearted man. Yew Tee added that Alvin guided him through his journey and treated him like his younger brother with kindness. He further added on the Facebook page that Alvin was a giant in the legal fraternity.

Mr. Yam said in a statement that h came to know about his condition of Alvin and that he is undergoing treatment for cancer back in 2020. Mr. Yam added that Alvin was showing patience despite being ill. Yam added that Alvin promised to meet all of his colleagues after he gets completely cured of his illness in 2022. Low Yen Ling Mp from GRC added that Alvin was like a big brother to her. She added that Alvin was very kind and encouraging. Low Yen said that Alvin’s speech was mesmerizing and she would always look out when he used to speak out in the parliament and his speech was thoughtful and insightful. Former MP Yee Chai said that Alvin was a perfect gentleman and wrote rest in peace at last.
